Sian gave this account of Class 4’s evacuee experience:
On our trip we went to Bury Art Gallery where we looked at some interesting WW2 artefacts and learnt about an A.R.P officer. Then we went to the Bury Transport Museum and did a workshop about the life of a WW2 evacuee child. Next we ate our lunch whilst on the train to Rawtenstall, once we arrived Hannah Farrell and I were billeted to a billeting officer. He told us about his job and we were the only people who had an indoor toilet. Finally we got back on the train and went back to Summerseat.
